Marie Parmer

Marie Parmer was born at Brookhaven (now part of Lake Belton) to Mary O'Dell and Ray Parmer. She has two brothers and two sisters, multiple nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Marie's family moved to Nolanville when Camp Hood established a military reservation over that area. Marie has lived in Bell County all of her life; attended Nolanville Elementary; graduated from Belton High School and attended Cameron's Commercial College in Temple.

After completing her education, Marie went to work in the ENT Office of Doctor Burbank Woodson until he had a stroke and had to close his office. She then went to work at Scott & White and her first job there was to help with fund raising to build the current building on South 31st Street. Marie continued working for Scott & White until her retirement in 2007 when she started working for Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine, where she remained until August 2015.

Marie's hope is to see the First Baptist Church of Harker Heights triple in size - not merely to increase our numbers but so that we can reach more souls for Christ. She believes we should be a lighthouse for this city and the surrounding area. Marie continues to stay active and is currently the president of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery west of Nolanville and is a board member for Altrusa International of Central Texas.
